Disable comments on all pages except blog

To disable/able comments on future Pages/Posts, uncheck/check “Allow people to post comments on new articles” in Settings -> Discussion. Then where you create/edit posts or pages in admin, check if you have ticked comments for your posts/pages in the “discussion” box below the editor. If you don’t see the “discussion” box there, in the ‘screen option’ dropdown field (located near the top right), there are tickboxes to show the ‘discussion’ box for the posts/pages. Tick mark it. In the ‘discussion’ box below the post/page editor, you can then allow/disallow comments for the page.

There is no section for “comments for your posts/pages in the “discussion” box below the editor”.

when i edit or create a new page, this there is no checkbox to allow disabling of discussions at all.

What theme are you using?

im currently using “Twenty fourteen”

Check first that you are actually an administrator for the site as this feature to disable comments is not available to all use levels.

Just to be clear on what Tara suggested

1. Go to your dashboard (when you login)
2. Then on the left Select Settings
3. Select Discussion

then you will see the options that Tara mentions above.

No, you misunderstand. I found that section. the section that is missing is:

I go to one of my existing pages.
There should be tick box for enabling/disabling comments below the page editor. this tick box is not there.

Im basically trying to remove the “add comment” section from my home page.
