Disable comments by category

    Is there anyway to disable comments automatically if the post is in a certain category?

    I found this thread.

    but it shows how to disable comments…not truly close them.

    if they accomplish the same thing, then ok, but i fear that spam will use automated methods which do not need the actual form to submit comments anyway.

    what do you think? is there a more graceful way of doing thid? any input would be valuable..

    i’d like to know this too? did you ever find out how?
