    Hi,

Since the last plugin update I noticed that it’s automatically deleting the cache when reaching a certain size.

Is there a way to disable it? I normally clear the cache in the mornings when our site traffic is 0 so no visitor gets a page without css. In addition, the cache being auto cleared is rendering my Hotjar (visitor session data capturing service) data unusable due to the css file being re-generated.

Thanks for your time & help

autoptimize does not auto-delete cache @ostonegi; it sends a mail, but it still expects the user to do the dirty work ??

(let me state again that a fast growing cache is an indication of bigger problems and that you should consider disabling the “also aggregate inline JS”-option which is almost always the culprit)

    happy holidays,

Hi Frank and thanks for your amazingly quick reply.

I have no problem with the cache size, but for some reason it’s now resetting very often.

I’m the only admin on our site, and so far I gladly cleared it manually each time, but today it’s already been cleared several times automatically (and definitely not by me).

no idea what’s happening @ostenegi. maybe your hoster is auto-deleting /wp-content/cache on a regular basis (I know some do)?

I’ve been with this host for 6 months and this is the 1st time I notice it being auto cleared, I’ll open a ticket with them just to make sure (it’s a non-managed VPS so I doubt they did anything to it..)

well, if non-managed VPS then it’s unlikely to be your hoster. and as it’s not autoptimize (that I’m sure off), so that leaves us with another plugin? maybe you have a (page caching?) plugin that calls AO’s cacheclean method (or simply removes /wp-content/cache)?

I have no idea what caused it, but now it’s building up again normally so I guess this is resolved.. Thanks for your quick replies and help, much appreciated!
