When clicking on search bar input, browser automatically offers to auto fill it with credit card info. I’ve checked, there IS autocomplete=”off” attribute so how do I resolve this? Thanks.

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

Yes, you are right that the search form input field of the Ivory Search plugin contains autocomplete=”off” attribute so the pre-populated list of values won’t appear in it.

If the pre-populated list of values appears for you then please contact the browser support to resolve it.

Google Chrome is very tricky to circumvent its autofill functionality and it’s imune to autocomplete=”off”. Still I discovered it can be overridden if autocomplete is set to “one-time-code” or “email”, probably some other values frome here too.

For everyone else who stumbles across this problem, I’ve resolved it by editing the plugin files, but they will be overwritten by the next update. So I suggest to developer to resolve this officially. I’ve done the research part, you just have to implement it in your next version.

I will consider implementing it in the future version of the plugin.
