I noticed that Asset Cleanup automatically deletes Autoptimize and Cache Enabler cache every few days.

I only use Asset Cleanup to unload JS and CSS and don’t require any cached files.

Is there a way to disable auto cache clearing? I can’t seem to find it in the settings.

@nomadandinlove Indeed, there’s currently no option to prevent this from happening unless you do some custom coding or even more code from Asset CleanUp.

However, I remember there were similar requests in the past (stopping cache clearing of other plugins) and I’ve decided to provide an update for this.

If you download the development version (replace the one you currently use) – you have details about how to do this here: https://www.assetcleanup.com/docs/how-to-get-the-development-version-of-asset-cleanup/ – you can use an option to instruct Asset CleanUp to prevent cache clearing for “Cache Enabler” plugin. You can even read about it here: https://www.assetcleanup.com/docs/?p=1502#wpacu-cache-enabler

This change will be eventually pushed in the next official release of the plugin. However, if you need it sooner (as you requested it recently), you can use it and then when you update the plugin (whenever the new version will be released), you will still have it there and working as it should.

I hope it helps! Let me know if you have any questions about it!

    Hi Gabe,

    Thanks for the solution.

I’m actually still troubleshooting the issue so it may not even be Asset CleanUp that’s causing the cache clearing. I mostly use Asset CleanUp to unload JS and CSS sitewide and by page. And I never click on clear cache.

Can you confirm if Asset Cleanup auto clears cache or if cache clearing is only triggered when you click on “Clear Cache”?

@nomadandinlove whenever you clear the cache in Asset CleanUp (and this doesn’t always happen whenever you manually do it, but also when you update the plugin rules and schedule to be cleared once a day through the WP Cron functionality), it will also clear immediately after the “Cache Enabler” cache if the plugin is activated of course. So, see if the solution I provided is working for you. After all, this is what you wanted in the first place, preventing the “Cache Enabler” cache clearing from triggering whenever Asset CleanUp Pro caching (of the files) clears.

im running autoptomize and wprocket together with asset clean up is that to much cache plug ins together .. i was using asset clean up i changed all the setting i edit on the home page and than when i go back to the cs js manager there was one last area that it had all the edits saved. my site is missing a lot of the display images. if someone could reply that would be great i think i just figured it out ,,

i changed back all the setting on the home page area where i first edited the home page but didn’t realize they were another saved portion in the actual plug in itself i disactivated in the js cs manager area. nothing went back to normal i almost thing my website is permanently broken some how .. everything looks good on the back end though but the front end the images are blank i hope this corrects is self
