    Hi, is there a way to disable all settings initial and then to set what i need? Thanks much!

  • That is the default. No settings exist except for the ones you select. Everything is disabled by default.

    NOTHING should be active by default and bbPress should look and function exactly as it was prior to activating Style Pack.

    Are there any specific settings active on Style Pack activation that you’re referring to? If so, let us know and we’ll look into it.

    Any ‘default’ settings are those that bbpress applies without the plugin, so yes the initial position is that nothing is set.

    Hi, thank you very much for your reply. The plugin then sets the default settings of bbpress. However, with this the plugin changes style adjustments such as font size etc. that have already been set by the theme to the bbpress default settings. I don’t need any adjustments initially. Not even the ones that set bbpress default settings. Many greetings!

    can you give a specific example of one please

    Same question as @robin-w, but I’d like to expand on it some more.

    @skayw

    There are no font size options in bbPress settings – Settings > Forums (/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=bbpress).

    So, where/how are you changing the default font sizes for bbPress? Within a specific theme (like you mentioned… and if so, which theme are you using)? With custom hooks/filters? Where/how are you overriding the default bbPress font settings?

    Hi, this are some screenshot. Each with style plugin and the first variant without style plugin (from Impreza Theme).

    Ok. So the Impreza Theme offers font styling for bbPress, and you’re using those settings for fonts instead of using Style Pack for fonts.

    Tha lazy/easy answer is: Just use Style Pack for your font styles instead of the theme. Problem solved.

    The better answer/solution is: For Style Pack to account for your theme’s font settings, and either:

    1.) Apply those to Style Pack as the new “bbPress default”.

    or

    2.) Don’t include those fonts as part of the generated CSS for Style Pack.

    Either option has a few potential issues to figure out, and I’m undecided which option is the best approach right now.

    Option #1 would require you to regenerate the CSS file any time you change font values in your theme.

    Option #2 may involve a lot of extra code for a not-so-common feature and unnecessarily complicate future updates.

    Later today I will install Impreza Theme and see what font values it offers, and then I will work on an update for Style Pack to make sure any theme values you have set get the priority.

    @robin-w – I’m on this one, but appreciate your input as always.

    @skayw

    I’m unfamiliar with this Impreza theme. I do not see any bbPress styling options. I only see general styling options. You gave the example of font styling, which I believe you are refering to this general “Typography” settings page within the theme (pictured below). Can you confirm that for me, or point me in the right direction if that’s not what you’re talking about?

    If that is the case, it appears that almost every settings page of that theme could/would affect bbPress.

    Colors, fonts, layouts, templates, search results, and so on. That theme has options for it, and so does Style Pack. FAR MORE OVERLAP than just font styles.

    Trying to match that theme’s settings to Style Pack settings seems a bit unrealistic, especially trying to keep them in sync between independent and unrelated theme/plugin updates.

    Before I even attempt to pursue any code changes related to your request, I’d like to analyze the theme and settings a little more thoroughly.

    From the Impreza “Manage Options” settings page (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=us-theme-options#manage) can you do a backup of your settings and send that file to me, or copy/paste your settings in an email:

    You can send it to [email protected]

    I’ll look into it further and see if there is a realistic way that makes sense to allow Impreza theme to apply values AND Style Pack to apply values without them conflicting/overriding each other.

    Until then, the best option is to actually set the font styling and other options you want within Style Pack too. Use the theme to handle your overall site, and Style Pack to handle the forum. Match the values within both to keep the look consistent.

    @skayw – I will look into this if you can send me your theme settings export as explained above.
