Disable adding default category if no category

    Is there a way to disable adding the default WordPress category to a page if you don’t want it to have a category? Or is this a feature you can add to the plugin? There are certain pages I need categories and there are others I don’t.

    Also, some of the authors on my website have also been experiencing an issue where when they edit a page that has no category that when they update it, the site default category gets added and it changes the URL for the page… even though I have enabled the option “Disable ‘Page category/tag’ in the URL”.

    Hello,
    By WP default: a post (if saving) haves a category.
    For the pages is this the same, once the plugin is activated it act the same as the WP post rules.

    It is acting like the WP post rules. But that is how posts are supposed to work.
    I wish it wasn’t this way for Pages when using your plugin.

    For my website, I would like the flexibility of some pages using categories and others not. And for the pages that I don’t want categories, I don’t want the default site category being applied when I publish or update the page.

    Any chance this can be a future feature of the plugin?

    Hi Jerrad,
    No i can’t make it because many functionalities in my plugin ar using the WP post rules but than for pages.
    To change this i have to write a whole new plugin …

    Hi Jerrad,
    I will close this topic, because we cannot change this, as described on our website:

    By default both categories and tags are only limited to posts, so when you create a new page in WordPress,
    you will notice that there is no option to add categories or tags to your WordPress page.
    What this plugin does is that it modifies the default categories and tag taxonomies and associate them with Page post type along with the default posts.
