Directory page disappears with upgrade to 2.6

  • We tried upgrading from version 2.3 beta to 2.6,as was recommended on the plugins WordPress page, but the directory page disappears from the WordPress Pages link, and our existing links to it on our site became broken. We deactivated the old version before activating the new one, but didn’t delete the old (to avoid risking losing our submissions). We’ve changed back for the time being, but the 2.3 version doesn’t seem to send out notifications when a new listing is submitted.

  • Sorry for that.Did the directory page give you 404 or page not found when you updated? also did you find anything in log file?

    It gives me ‘Oops! That page can’t be found.’ and ‘directory’ disappears from ‘Pages’ in the WP dashboard. I also get 394 lines in debug.log, don’t know what to look for. Switching back to the beta version restores the directory at it’s permalink: https://norfolkcan.org.uk/directory/ Maybe upgrading changes the link, but surely it would still be in ‘Pages’?

    The directory page should be there when you update, could you please check if update creates a new directory page,also if you could please check directory settings for default pages.

    There is no new page in ‘Pages’ in the WP dashboard, and the directory page disappears from the ‘Frontpage’ dropdown list in Directory > Settings, if that’s what you meant by directory settings for default pages.
