• Currently I have WordPress installed to /public_html/myname.photography/realestate. There is a site there that I would like to leave as is. However, when you go to /public_html/myname.photography/ of course there is only a 404 page. Also, I would like to make wordpress sites – or sets of pages – at other subdirectories, e.g., /public_html/myname.photography/landscape, /public_html/myname.photography/sports. All of these would use the same theme; so each subtopic would be a menu item on the index page of /public_html/myname.photography/. Can I make that happen with a single installation of WP without losing the existing real estate site? Thanks.

  • I don’t see why you can’t. If you install WordPress on your main domain you can have as many ‘sub-sites’ as you like from the one installation. You just wont be able to create a site in your multisite network called /realestate or strange things will happen.
