    Dear Tobias and others,

What do you think of the feature to directly embed a csv file from a URL using a shortcode like [table src=domain.com/file.csv]?

This would, for example, allow a user to work together on a csv file in Dropbox and then always have the table directly updated by reading and embedding the csv file directly from Dropbox.

    Thankfully,

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

I don’t think that this would be a good idea. The problem here basically is that it would require an external HTTP request on every page load.

You could maybe take a look at the TablePress Automatic Periodic Table Import Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/table-auto-import/ that could be helpful here.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Dear Tobias,

The Auto Import plugin is just great.

It serves this purpose really well.

    Thank you so much!
