Dimming page background while video plays?

Hi, I am trying to find a way to allow the user to dim the background of the page by clicking a lights off switch. I’ve seen this work for divx players but since i’m not supporting divx I was wondering if anyone has found a way of achieving this for wordpress for videos that have been embedded from youtube, vimeo or any other embed source I can think of.
