    Hi,

We sell digital and physical products. Sometimes, a customer may order both types of products. Physical products require shipping where as the digital product can be downloaded instantly. But the problem we have is with woocommerce, there is no way to split these orders and send different email for each type of product.

Can we use this plugin to a) split the orders automatically and then b) send two emails: one for physical product and another for digital products?

Please note that digital products are marked as complete once payment is made and can be downloaded instantly but physical products are first processed (one email for this) and then shipped (another email for this).

    Kindly let me know.

    Thanks,

    Fuaad

    Dear Fuaad,

You can use our plugin and mark digital products as one group and physical as other. Or even group by product categories can work for you too. But there is no splitting method named as “group by product types” yet.

    Thanks,
    Fahad

But the question is, will the plugin send two different emails? We need something to send to emails. Right now, when both products are bought, the physical products require shipping and it does not make sense to send shipping confirmation email for digital products.

@fuaad1021 correct, this plugin sends separate emails for each child order. Please check the emails tab on settings page.

@fuaad1021 in your case, you can split by grouping products or grouping categories. Here are the tutorials & screenshots: Grouped Products & Grouped Categories

    Are these premium features?

We sell two products (digital and physical). We tried to get orders split into two, one for the digital product and the other for physical product by labelling each according to their group. But for some reason, only one email is being generated for the customer. We need to send two emails after split. The digital product needs to be marked as complete (a separate email with download link is sent) and the physical product will be sent as another email stating order is being processed.

Can you help assist us with the settings for the above requirement?

    Thanks,

@fuaad1021 it triggers two emails, one for parent order and second for child/splitted order. When order status is change WooCommerce by default sends an email ro customer for completing order.

Thanks for your reply. But it is not triggering two emails. Where do you change this setting from?

Make sure you can split both of your products (just forget about digital or physical products for a while) with Shredder Method.

it’s not working unfortunately. Not sure if I am doing something wrong

    Let me check it.

@fuaad1021 I have checked with Inclusive Method with these settings. It triggers emails according to the child order. If there is only one child/splitted order it will trigger one email for child order(Parent order’s email will be triggered in both cases).

So if you have product A and B, after split, does the customer get two emails, one for product A and another for product B?
