• Recently my server fell vicitim to the Digg Effect and I had to deactivate PHP support for the subdomain where WordPress is hosted so that my other sites could run normally. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this. I can not make my sub-domain live, because the hits start coming back in and will cause my Server’s CPU process to max out and I recieve the error “Too Many Connections”. I use to have WP-Cache but could not reactivate the plugin when I updated WordPress a long time ago. I will pay for a solution that works.

  • Try a newer version of wp-cache, also you could try installing a php optimizer if this is your own server. I use eAccelerator and it decreased my site’s load time by at least half. I don’t know if it can deal with the digg effect but just some place to start.
