Difficulty to index in Google News

Hi, it might be that this is happening because you seem to have changed your site name from “Meta Galáxia” to “Meta Galáxia: Reviews e notícias sobre Cultura Pop!”. The original is here https://news.google.com/publications/CAAqBwgKMMmNqQswu5jBAw?hl=pt-BR&gl=BR&ceid=BR%3Apt-419 but if I check https://www.google.com/search?q=site:metagalaxia.com.br&tbm=nws I see other Publisher names too.

Go to Settings > Google News and enter “Meta Galáxia” in the Publisher name field. Then also make sure in Publisher Center you use the same publisher name.

Also go to your Google Search Console account and add the news sitemap there. It will warn you when something is wrong.

@mathclash looking at https://news.google.com/publications/CAAqBwgKMMmNqQswu5jBAw?hl=pt-BR&gl=BR&ceid=BR%3Apt-419 I do see the titles from your news sitemap are there in the different sections, except the “web stories”. Is that a post type? Have you included the web stories in the sitemap?

You mean the sections/categories of the site? Yes, we have some sections/categories, and we included they in the ‘news sitemap’, as also we included they in the ‘main sitemap’.

About the ‘Web Story’, they are included only in the ‘Publish Center’, because the option to include ‘Story” in the plugin are not allowed, as you can see in this pic.

@ravanh iunderstand that the “category” of Web Story are not using the post category taxonomy.

But your site is indexed in GN. Both regular posts (as present in your news sitemap) as the web stories seem to be getting into Google News just fine. Maybe not instantly, but still within a few hours… It’s up to Google News to decide how fast and how often it will come to index new posts.

Understood about the advanced version! We are considering it.

About the GN indexing, how can you see it? Because, when i search in the tab “News” of Google, we are not there, as you can see in this pic.

You can search for “site:metagalaxia.com.br” there. But the posts under the News tab are different from when you do a search for “site:metagalaxia.com.br” on news.google.com and indeed not the most recent ones as you can find on your dedicated news page https://news.google.com/publications/CAAqBwgKMMmNqQswu5jBAw?hl=pt-BR&gl=BR&ceid=BR:pt-419

I would guess it’s ultimately up to Google News what to show where but maybe someone on the Publisher Center help forum https://support.google.com/news/publisher-center/threads can give you a better insight…
