Different URL to thumbnail images

On this page, https://www.barnaskolinn.is/upplysingar/myndasafn/ I have albums (extend) with thumbnails. As you can see some thumbnails are missing and some aren’t. This was ok some weeks ago but suddenly went wrong. I can see there are different URL’s to the thumbnails, those who are working have this URL: https://www.barnaskolinn.is/wp-content/gallery/tonleikar_okt12/dynamic/img_1495-nggid041192-ngg0dyn-91×68-00f0w010c011r110f110r010t010.jpg
Others have this: https://www.barnaskolinn.is/nextgen-image/187/91×68/crop/75d84c7aa1740bbd954d2803d82eff48
Why is this /nextgen-image/ in the URL that is not working ? I have set a preview image for the galleries in both the album and the and gallery part, but it seems to me that when there is No picture selected for the album then the image appears. The problem is I can not remove the preview image in the album section, if I remove the image it does not save and goes back to the image again.
