• Curious if it’s possible to create separate view templates or layouts on a per event-category basis. This would be similar to the way WordPress allows you to create separate templates for each term in a taxonomy. It’d be even “awesomer” if I could create a unique layout that contains different HTML for past events (versus current events) from the same category.

For example, if I have two event categories: “Outreach” and “Shows” I’d love to display the standard HTML/view/template when viewing the Outreach events category (~/events/category/outreach/), but when viewing the Shows category (~/events/category/bouts/), I’d like to use a different view from the Outreach category and, when viewing PAST shows (~/events/category/bouts/past/), I’d like another view all together.

    Anything like this possible? Thanks!

Hi there DaveE. Yes, the same end game you’re going for here is essentially possible….you can’t do different templates per se, but you can conditionally use different markup and code based upon the category itself.

Hope that helps. Let me know if not, and thanks for using The Events Calendar.
