Different templates for Frontpage

Hi there,
I have a problem setting up the frontpage(s)
We want to use WordPress as the cms for our new homepage

• I set up 2 languages: German and English
• I checked Front page displays a static page and choose my frontpage and blog page
• my German frontpage should display the latest articles (blog template or another frontpage template with some latest articles)
• my English frontpage should be a static page (3 col template, no latest articles)

The reason for this is that we don’t provide our latest articles in English. Most of the content will be translated.

My problem is that I am not able to choose different templates for my frontpages. When I choose blog template for the German frontpage, the English frontpage uses the same template.

Is there a solution?
