I know I can create separate paypal buttons with different prices for the same level of membership. I want to be sure that there are no unintended consequences for doing that. Depending on the conditions, say month of joining, the price is different. I create separate payment buttons for each condition. They are applied to the same membership level. Is such setup advisabe and are there any adverse effects that I should be aware of?

Hi, can you provide more information or what you are trying to achieve?

    Thank you

Let say I have a membership level called Gold Level and have a fixed-date expiry on 2020-12-31. The regular price charged for this level at the beginning of the year is $50. But when new members sign up for this Gold Level in Aug, will be charged $25.

What I try to do is to create two payment buttons for the same Gold Level, but with different prices. Of course I have to place the buttons on separate pages.

    Hope that is clearer.

Let me see if I understand you correctly. You want to create two prices for the same membership level. But the first charge is greater than the second charge. If this is correct, what is the purpose of having two different prices for the same membership level? Is this a special offer for those who decide to upgrade again for the same membership level? Or is is for something else?

    Thank you

The membership period is from Jan to Nov each year. If a person joins in Jan, his membership covers full 11 months. If another person join in Aug, his membership covers just 4 months. Hence for the same membership level, but different prices.

Is this a subscription payment or a one time payment? What happens if a person joins in February or March etc? Are you going to create buttons for these months?

Our membership is on fixed-date expiry, Nov 30 each year. Everyone will have to renew each year.
The reduced rate applies only for joining after July 31. The price is not on a pro-rated basis. If someone joins in Feb or May or July 1, he will have to pay full price.
I want to be sure there are no complications with SWPM when I create two payment buttons for this situation.

Now that I know what you are trying to achieve SWMP can work for you. However you can’t show both buttons at the same time because they cover different time period. So, during the months up to July 31 you display one button, make sure you give this button a unique name. After July 31, you display the discounted button, also make sure you give this button a unique name. I think this would work for you. What do you think?

Excellent. So there will not be any complication with two buttons of two different price applying to the same membership level. Love it and thanks.
