• Hello members,

using Elementor and its basic Hello theme, I am trying to design a registration page for a sport events website where users will have the possibility to:

    1. register to the site then,
    2. decide whether they wish to take part in any, or more than one, events.
    3. pay.

Every event has a different cost and even the same event has discounted fees according to time of registration (Early Bird, Late-Call and Regular fees)

For point 1), i am using Ultimate Member plugin (i thought that maybe a registered user may not wish to take part in any events but, rather, just receiving the newsletter for future updates)

For point 2), i decided to use a different plugin, Participants Database (I found it very useful in creating a participants list and also gives the possibility for the user “Mr Steve J.” to create a duplicate participant using the same email address (maybe his “no-tech/no-emailaddress” wife wishes to join him on the venture or, take part in a different one).

I am stuck on point 3) where i can’t find a plugin for payment that will automatically adjust the amount according to the user’s choice and redirect the user to the correct payment page; i.e. if I click on Buy Now button for a bicycle on eBay I will be redirected to a payment page with the amount equaling the cost of the bike, plus VAT/commission.. if I choose another item, the amount to be paid changes according to the cost of the item.

So far i have been exploring the possibility of:

    a) creating 20+ pages, each with a different amount for each option (it doesn’t sound very techie, or am i wrong?)

    b) using pages with grouped option and have individual option locked with “Elementor Display Options”

    c) getting rid of the option to ‘Pay Now’ button (using a credit card) and offer ONLY a Bank Transfer option where the user will be manually inputting the amount to be transferred.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

p.s.: I have no knowledge of coding except for some basic HTML and something tells me me that this is done by professionals using java or other similar languages?

It seems most of the payment gateway plugins are principally for use with WooCommerce, which is probably overkill for your situation. The one exception I saw is Forminator. I’ve never used this plugin, but in its description it says it’ll work with variable payment amounts. There may still be some custom coding involved since you would need to somehow tell Forminator how much money to charge, unless it can somehow be calculated by the Forminator form itself.

Review the plugin’s information to see if it’ll work for you. If you still have any remaining questions, ask in their dedicated support forum.
