I have deactivated the WP core login/registration pages in the User Registration settings (to force registrations through this plugin so I can use recaptcha), but I’d really like to find a way to treat admins and editors differently on login by sending them to the WP dashboard rather than the “my-account” page.

Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere thtat takes care of this or no?

  • Hi @sporkme,

If you mean that you want to redirect admins to a different page after login rather than my account page and editors to a different page other than where admins are being redirected then this is not possible. Once you use the redirect_url parameter in the login shortcode then anyone logging in from the login form will be redirected to the specific page mentioned in the parameter value.
Do let me know if it helps or if you were expecting a different answer. I will then get back to you accordingly.

    Regards!

Correct – I was basically looking to bypass that redirect (set in the shortcode’s redirect_url parameter) for any users higher than a normal/unprivileged user so that our admin users would land at the dashboard.
