Hello @beiert
I just got confirmed by my colleague that he has the same issue with his IOS device in Germany.
The buttons are automatically translated by PayPal and there are some scenarios where PayPal may not detect the expected language. We have already a feature request to provide a language override option in our plugin. Next to this, I will create a ticket for investigating the situation for IOS causing the button not to be translated, but we expect this might be caused on PayPal’s side and the plugin has no/little effect on this issue.
We send details of browser and system metadata to PayPal and then PayPal decides what happens afterwards. It’s possible that Apple devices use some special metadata in a different format which is not being sent to PayPal by the plugin.
When I tested this myself I got a mixed outcome, with Pay Later being translated to German and Pay with PayPal staying English. This makes me think there is another issue ongoing here. Not sure if we can do much to resolve this, but I added this all to our ticket and we will check it and discuss it with PayPal if needed.
Thank you for reaching out to us, this is a good catch and we hope we can make some changes to make this a more constant situation in the near future.
Kind regards,
Joost
