• Hello, I am looking for help to please my client
Currently with the theme I am using I cannot do what he wants.
    This is what he wants,

The ability to have a different format on each page of the web site, being able to have different items in the right-hand column…or, for example, having a single-column or three-column format on the non-home pages.

Basically, working within a theme he wants to change the template depending on which page you are on. The home page is fine the way it is. Right now it has a top navigational area with a few different pages, the pages load in the middle – the right sidebar stays the same no matter what loads in the middle. This is the way most of the themes I’ve found that suit his taste operate.
I don’t have any idea how to manipulate a theme so that depending on which page you click on, the right side bar either goes away, or changes in content.

Does this make sense? Can anybody help? I am working with the theme Coraline 1.0.2

  • learn about page templates:

and possibly use a plugin for conditional widgets

sorry, i am having trouble with this. i am not sure if it is my choice of theme or what but i cannot find the option to add a new template. i also do not understand how to do this in notepad using ftp. i would be fine with doing it thru ftp but i don’t know how to upload it so it would show up in the drop down menu.
