    Hi there, you can specify the font-weight and style with @font-face like this:

    @font-face {
       font-family: 'Ubuntu';
          src: url('Ubuntu-RI-webfont.eot');
          src: url('Ubuntu-RI-webfont.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'),
               url('Ubuntu-RI-webfont.woff') format('woff');
       font-weight: 400;
       font-style: italic;
    }

    @font-face {
       font-family: 'Ubuntu';
          src: url('Ubuntu-B-webfont.eot');
          src: url('Ubuntu-B-webfont.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'),
               url('Ubuntu-B-webfont.woff') format('woff');
       font-weight: 700;
       font-style: normal;
    }

    Is there a way to do this with Custom Fonts? If not, is this a feature in development? Thank you!

    Hello @blogjunkie,

    Yes, this is in our list, For now, you will have to add different font weights as separate fonts that way those can be available in the customizer.

    @nikschavan I’m a big fan of that feature. Can you already estimate how long it will take until this feature arrives?

    Is there a plan to make Elementor’s custom font feature work with Astra Theme for font selection or will the focus stay on this Custom Font plugin?

    There is no estimate at the moment for this functionality.

    Is there a plan to make Elementor’s custom font feature work with Astra Theme for font selection or will the focus stay on this Custom Font plugin?

    We can do this, I will list this as a task for us to add support for the Elementor Pro’s Custom Fonts from Astra Theme in the upcoming update.

    I’ve stopped using/recommending this plugin specifically because of the font weight issue.

    I’m now back to manually adding fonts to Beaver Builder following their Custom Fonts instructions.

    I’m surprised this isn’t being given more priority, given that it’s been a request for over a year, and the plugin is definitely more convenient.

    Looking forward to revisiting the plugin when this feature does eventually get added.

    Hello,
    I’m interested in this request too.
    Elementor has a very optimized way to include Custom Fonts (without having to name differently every variation of the same font family); it would be great if Astra theme could load the Elementor Fonts in its customizer, or if this plugin adopts the same approach.

    @eccebombo @syrehn ,

    As you know that we have added the requested feature in our to do list and we will be adding the necessary changes in our plugin soon.

    When is soon? This is a critical feature that makes your plugin kind of pointless.

    Particularly, I need to be able to get an italic style of my font without having the change the font face to the italic version of the font.

    Any progress on this feature? would be awesome!

    Hello @caribbeanbruce and @quasel,

    Unfortunately, right now we don’t have any ETA for adding this feature.

    I have forwarded this request to our team. They will try adding it to our future updates.

    We really appreciate your efforts and patience.

    How can this post be “resolved” if different font weights inside one font are still not part of the plugin?

    10 months ago the plugin support wrote: “we will be adding the necessary changes in our plugin soon.” This is the most critical feature for a plugin that is supposed to allow adding custom fonts easily.

    For me personally that’s one of the last things missing to make Astra a valid option for quick website development without having to go back to code for custom fonts that work as supposed to.

    I’d really appreciate this feature.

    Hello @kiudex

    As Sweta has mentioned in our last response.

    Currently, we do not have any ETA for the font weights requirement. But we do keep adding new features and improved Custom Font plugin in the recent months.

    While we haven’t worked on this requirement yet. We will try to add this feature in future updates soon.

    We will look forward to providing the required feature in future updates. Stay tuned. ??

    What is the status on this update? For me it is absolutely crucial to be able to use different weights of the same font. I’m utilizing a custom font is because I’m occupied with the aesthetics the font provides, and not being able to use e.g. bold type in the text editor is uacceptable.

    Does anyone know of alternative themes that have this option? I’m using Elementor and it is not picky about the theme.

    This is my site.

    Hello @larsdegnbol

    We haven’t taken this up yet!

    But as I checked we do have the same lined up and soon in the coming months, we shall provide this update.

    I hope that helps.
