Different folder for uploads invisible in media library

  • I’ve inherited a site where all the images are stored in /wp-content/uploads/mc/subfolder etc.

    I can access to those images only via FTP and I don’t see them in the media library, which is very unpractical.

    Newly uploaded images go in the default upload folders.

    How do I make the old ones visible again?
