• Hello everybody.
I have WP multisite configuration. I have a child theme for the network primary site but I would like to use a different child theme for each category.

    For example:
    mysite.com (uses childtheme1)
    mysite.com/category1 (uses childtheme2)

I hope the above makes sense and apologies if this has been asked already.

Thank you for your support and reply.

I forgot to mention that mysite.com/category1 which uses childtheme1 ought to show the home page of childtheme1

Any questions please ask. Thank you.

That’s not a Multisite question, unless ‘category1’ is it’s own site. Is it?

    Mika, apologies for the confusion.
    yes I have multisite installed.
The question was about using different child themes by category.

For example, the primary site mysite.com has twenty eleven child theme active
However, I would like mysite.com/category1 to use vertigo theme and its templates

I guess that this is not possible now that I have given some thoughts to it.

As Mika pointed out, in order for this to work, “category1” would have to be its own site within the multisite installation, it couldn’t simply be a category.
