Different anchor links scroll in different browsers

  • Just a quick question, but is it common to have smooth scroll automatically in certain browsers and in others it’s just the basic jump without scroll?

    I’m experiencing this right now, would like to have smooth scroll in both but I didn’t do anything to set that up. Yet, in my chrome browser, it does that automatically. Kind of confused by this.

    And just another question, while I’m here anyways:

    Is there any recommendation on how to use anchor links for headings? As in, should they be the exact headings or should you leave out words with no meaning?

    So would it be better to have #all-the-reasons-why-a-bird-is-blue or #reasons-why-bird-is-blue
