• I installed Wp using Fantastico

Login to your Cpanel and click new installation and you’ll know what i’m talking about

I notice Fantastico ask for these fields in Step 1 of the installation

    1. Admin email in the Base configuration Form

    2. Email account username and password in the E-mail configuration Form

What is the difference between the Admin Email and the “Email Account Username” ?

Arent they both the same? Can I leave the Email Account Username blank??

    thx

I’ve got the same question. When I was setting up WordPress via Fantastico for my website, https://www.url1.com, it asked for 2 email addresses. One was for what was called the base configuration email address for “admin” and had a note that says “your email address,” while the other requests both an email address and password and is listed under the heading “Email Address Configuration.”

I cannot find any place online that explains the differences between these two addresses. Please offer an explaination if you have one.

I was in the process of installing WP via Fantastico in cpanel, but I am totally confused about the following items:

    E-mail account configuration

    E-mail account username
    E-mail account password
    POP/SMTP server

Are they talking about my ISP email or my website email I created under my domain?
