    Thanks for posting your question!

    Google Analytics (not the plugin, but service) indicates New Visitors and Returning visitors. An generalizes those two types as Users.

    So technically, Visitors and Users are the same.

    So much I understand. But what I don’t understand is what the number of ‘users’ indicates. If you combine the number of ‘new visitors’ and ‘returning visitors’ you get the number of ‘sessions’, not ‘users’. So what does the number of ‘users’ really indicates?

    Please note, that Users metric indicates number of users by day, whereas New Visitors and Returning Visitors are the sessions by user type.
