sorry if this has been asked before but i wasn’t totally clear about what the exact difference in terms of how your system works. My understanding was that a spammer was anyone/thing who spams your site and that a splogger was someone/thing who set up an account for the purposes of creating a spam site on a multisite network.

The way wangguard works (at least for us) is that the only per user report button in the user list is for sploggers not spammers (in the current version anyway). Also marking someone a spammer also marks them as a splogger.

So my question is is there ever a time when a splogger wasn’t also a spammer? And is there any difference in how we mark people in terms what you guys do with that info and that you can share? Mainly just trying to make sure i’m doing things correctly and helping to fight the good fight the right way.

Thanks again or such a great plugin!

Hi @ubernaut im sorry for the delay.

There is not difference between Spam or Splogger in the latest version. If you mark a user as spam, he will be marked as splogger. In the latest version, if you mark a user as splogger, he will be marked as spam.

We have kept both names because if someone use a plugin that mark an user as spam but only is modifying the database, you will see the user marked as spam but not as splogger.

I do not know if I have explained…
