Difference between "Secure WordPress" and "WP Security"

  • I too am confused about that… I just updated to v3.0.1, which includes this message:

    We strongly recommend you to use our other plugin Acunetix WP Security instead, as it will be constantly maintained and updated with new features.

    Why update the plugin at all if it’s now superseded by a different one?

    Thank you for showing interest in our plugins!

    You are correct, the latest versions of these plugins share the same codebase.

    We have no intention of dropping the Acunetix Secure WordPress plugin, we will still update it, but we will focus mainly on the Acunetix WP Security plugin, this is why we added that message at the top of the screen.
