Difference between GA numbers & GADWP numbers

  • Since yesterday I’m using your plugin. As some numbers of GADWP seemed as being strange I started to compare numbers of some of my pages.

    And there are actually (massive) differences between GA and GADWP figures.

    Some examples:

    Pages – 1 year basis
    Recipe Polish Christmas Salad – 740 (GA) vs 1 (GADWP) – diff 739
    Recipe Mango-Chutney – 595 (GA) vs 1 (GADWP) – diff 594
    Recipe Mojo verde – 472 (GA) vs 1 (GADWP) – diff 471

    Pages – 90 days basis
    Rezept Yogurt oat bread: 796 (GA) vs 872 (GADWP) – diff -76
    Ballet bar at home: 523 (GA) vs 348 (GADWP) – diff -175
    Home page: 487 (GA) vs 523 (GADWP) – diff -36

    Pages – 30 days basis
    Recipe Yogurt oat bread: 492 (GA) vs 480 (GADWP) – diff 12
    Ballet bar at home: 141 (GA) vs 133 (GADWP) – diff 8
    Home page:117 (GA) vs 109 (GADWP) – diff 8

    I would like to understand where these differences are coming from.

    Define GA, do you mean Google Analytics Website?

    Can you tell me the dimensions you’re looking at? Are you sure you’re looking at same dimensions?

    Hi Alin

    Sorry, you’re right, GA means Google Analytics Website.

    As I’m using the German version originally it should be “1 year”, “30 days”, “90 days” and “pages” with active “page views” icon on the WordPress admin dashboard.

    I assume the result in GADWP should be the same like “all pages” (Alle Seiten) with metrics “page” (Seite) and “page views” (Seitenaufrufe) in Google Analytics.

    On your Google Analytics web report, select Page Title as the primary dimension (Seitentitel), because if you have changed the way titles are constructed at some point they won’t match the numbers from Page URI (path).
