newbie here. i’m trying to wrap my head around how page templates work with the pages listed in the Pages panel under the Dashboard. what you see when you navigate to the site is the Front Page template but not the home page that is listed in the Pages panel and is set as the static home page in the Reading Settings in the Dashboard. How do I apply the template to the home page?

thank you in advance for the clarification!

Hi @lulu2001 – It looks like you’ve applied the Blank template to your homepage, is that right? I see page-template-blank in the code.

Did you perhaps accidentally remove the Post Content block in that template? It’s required to output your page content. I know it’s a little confusing because it’s called “Post Content” and yet it can output your page content as well…

Let me know if this fixes it!

(I’m also a little curious as to why you picked the Blank template, as that one is meant to have no header & footer but it looks like you’ve gone ahead and added back a header…)

    Dear Kathryn,

that was the problem! thank you so much i really appreciate it. i picked the Blank because i have a really specific idea of the design and i didn’t want to have to make another design work. I think it works now! thank you again

@lulu2001 Great, glad that solved it! I’ll mark this thread as resolved but feel free to start a new one if you need help with something else.
