Difference Between Email Subscription vs Google Plus and RSS?

  • How does an email subscription differ from RSS? Are email subscriptions the same thing as RSS and Google+ Plus?

    I just want to connect with people and have a record of their email so I can send them a newsletter but I am confused between RSS, Google Plus and an email subscription. What are their differences?

    any suggestions as to which plugins are best for this?
