Hi guys. Created a basic custom post type “courses” and checked the Categories (WP Core) option (I guess because one of my previously installed plugins uses the Categories taxonomy). The problem then is that my custom post types do not list the categories taxonomy that I created, but rather lists the default WordPress posts categories when displayed. What am I doing wrong?

Basically the “(WP Core)” part is appended to the label to denote that that option is the default “category” taxonomy that comes enabled by default by WordPress. If you have a different taxonomy that has labels or a similar slug to “category” that you’re wanting to associate, then determine which from the list that would be and go with that one.

We labeled the “post_tag” taxonomy the same way for the default “Tags” to try and help prevent some confusion where possible.
