This is actually very intentional and by design from the getgo, to only manage post types and taxonomies originally registered through our plugin.
When I first stepped in as primary developer of CPTUI back in 2013, it would list post types and taxonomies registered elsewhere, but it would be in “read only” and only for the sake of visualizing other content types current state.
Beyond just not importing or inheriting content types registered by other plugins or themes, is there anything about the plugin that was not working for you the way you were expecting or hoping?
