Did "This may be an attempt to trick you." come from BPS?

    After putting BPS back in place this morning, I was doing some site work and attempted to go get an image from the outside and immediately saw this in a popup:

    You are about to log in to the site “(mysitename.org)” with the username “(myserverID)”, but the website does not require authentication. This may be an attempt to trick you.
    Is “(mysitename.org)” the site you want to visit?
    | Yes | No |

    Two questions:
    1) Did that popup come from BPS?
    2) If so, what would have happened it I had clicked “Yes”?

    Aw, shucks. My question was a serious one and I was going to suggest you might change that to something like, “You are about to log in to the site “citymorgue.org” with the username “all.ready.to.go”. ??

    You already know BulletProof Security works, so you came to mind immediately when I saw that message. Also, I am going to have to read your docs a bit more and learn how to get back in without having to call the guys at my server after I goof and block my own Login!

    Well if you goof up then you only need to do these steps and you will be back in your WP Dashboard.

    Unable to login into your website:

    1. Use FTP or your Web Host Control Panel File Manager and delete the .htaccess file in your website root folder.
    2. Log into your website, click the BPS Pro AutoMagic Buttons and Activate all BulletProof Modes.

    Ah, maybe that is where I goofed. I deleted that file and then put a default .htaccess in its place…and then BPS? renamed my plugins folder when I tried (with no success) to rename the folder for the plugin I suspected was actually causing my Login problem.

    Yep you would only need to delete the root .htaccess file and that should do it.

    I finally got my Login working properly this morning, and it seems it does not get along well with these: # 5G:[QUERY STRINGS]. Now that I know that, I think I can re-activate BPS and just sit back and let it do its thing.

    Yep there are a lot of really good security filters/rules/conditions in the Perishable Press 5G script, but I have noticed that several filters need better refinement/conditions/rules.
