• Maybe it’s not working with the new wordpress?

The widget will NOT send in confirmation email for new subscribers despite making page and adding [subscribe] shortcode, and pointing the widget to that page. (Which is not fully disclosed either on installation page – it says to upload and that’s it – obviously it isn’t. You have to go to FAQ page which then tells you that you must make a page with short code – and some more search to figure out the short code)

All to discover that it doesn’t work anyway.

Had to use the jetpack subscribe button instead.

Hi Nada Cat – The shortcode is actually [subscribe2] (with the number 2) perhaps that’s why it’s not working for you? In this coming year I’m going to be working on making the plugin more user friendly by improving the documentation (taking your points into consideration) and also ditching the need to have a specified thank you page with the shortcode added. In the upcoming version you won’t need to specify a thank you page, it will simply submit on the same page and a success message will appear in place of the widget.

When those improvements come out I’d love for you to reconsider your review. For now, thanks for the valuable feedback and sorry it didn’t work out for you! Happy holidays and new years.

    Hi Devin !

Thanks for your response. Yes – 2- that might have been it ! Indeed… LOL.
I really appreciate your considering my experience. I think step by step instruction in documentation would have made it very simple to use.

I am considering moving back again to drupal and trying out Perch. So unsure if I will try this plug in again, but definitely will keep in mind!

No problem. It would have been great if you could have reached out for support before giving the plugin a poor rating. Despite this, I’ll continue to work at improving the plugin.

Hi Nada Cat – It would be awesome if you could test the plugin out now with the latest updates. If you have a better experience I would appreciate you considering rerating the plugin!

I’m just building a new site and will try your plug in there and rerate this plug – in . Please expect by the end of the month as I also have another project with another company.

Thanks again- and sorry for the rating for now.

This is completely unfair to you, however. Subscribe2 seem to not work on my Kriyatantra.org site that I am am currently building. I have no idea why (something to do with not being able to send confirmation emails from any of the available emails.)

I need to look for other options … donno what yet. The follow button in WP seems too open for security reasons. Jetpack subscribe is OK but it forces people into wordpress signup and you can’t have access to email list and control over the list.

Will do my research. However , Subscribe2 itself is not working for me.
