@dedide – Have you considered that before you make a review like this, especially one this vague, that you should post in the support forum first?

I usually respond within hours at most. And have 0 unsolved issues.

Also nearly all issues like your describing actually stem from other plugins and themes causing JS errors, not our plugin.

If you post in support I would be glad to assist in fixing it but this review is unfounded at best and offers no usable information to either fix the problem or make it better in the future.

PS look at our reviews and you will see that we are very active and quickly resolve most issues. You should always start with a support ticket and if that fails then leave negative feedback. Leaving vague low ratings like this will almost never result in solving your problem.

Still no thoughts on the matter? Would love to hear exactly what was going wrong so we can at least try and fix it for others.

    Hi Daniel,
The tone of your first reply seemed fairly hostile. It really did not work for me. It was an honest review given because I was nagged in email to give one. It would take a lot of time for me to list all plugins, server variables and browser configurations. I am a freelancer so only get paid when I get work. My work has to support myself and other people. Is it likely you will recompense me for this time spent working for you? I suspect not.

@dedide – I appologize if it came accross as hostile. If you want to leave an honest review that is completely acceptable by me, but that said you didn’t make any attempt to get support ( free and fast ), nor did you even say how it didn’t work for you.

For some background I respond to most support tickets within hours and ask nothing in return, so I feel that the reality is I have compensated you and many others by continuing to develop free plugins which you then use to sell products and services to clients, so to say I owe you would be unfair since this plugin stems from 4+ years of development and I ask nothing in return. I also am a freelancer who makes nearly all my money ( which isn’t a lot ) from donations & extension sales. I constantly provide free support, free development and often go beyond my own plugins scope of support to help people solve problems that I am not responsible for including help solve bugs in themes and other plugins. This means a negative review like yours is kinda like a client not paying their bill due to some untold issue, or badmouthing you with no apparent reason behind it. It does leave you feeling a bit hurt and frustrated to say the least.

All of that said I simply meant to ascertain the cause or at least the actual problem experienced so that I can try and address it for you or at least future users. I solve nearly all issues for my users, and every request gets a response no matter what the subject matter.

But the fact remains that you didn’t state what you expected it to do or how it failed you and as a developer who strives to make the best product available this is very frustrating. In my support experience with this plugin, more than 70% of the issues people report are caused by other themes and plugins, thus it is safe to assume that the problem you experienced didn’t occur because of this plugin, but rather a conflict with another plugin. 90% of those issues stem from simple to fix JS errors, which I always attempt to fix for users and on many occasions report the bugs to the plugin/theme author with fixes attached.

I may not be able to persuade you to change your rating but if I can learn from and improve upon my plugins and or support from the experience you had then it is an acceptable loss to me. But since you didn’t state the problem you had I can go nowhere with this information which is where the frustration comes from.

Bad reviews are part of the game, but there are ways to write a Good Bad Review which is both constructive and supportive.

PS How were you nagged in email? The only way that occurred was if you signed up for our newsletter to receive free copies of our most popular paid extensions which is in a way compensation, and we simply ask 1 time only for you to rate and review the plugin.

Again I do apologize for the response sounding hostile and that was not my intention. If you do look through our support forum here and the other 55+ reviews in the last 90 days you will see that we strive way above and beyond to please and assist users, with no expectation of compensation, only asking for constructive reviews. Even most of our reviews get responses asking for future improvement ideas.

I hope that you were able to solve your issues with your client site and wish you nothing but success in the future.
