• The plugin comes with a lot of praise but not much information on how to use it, or warnings about incompatibility with other plugins. Result, I installed it, and just doing that wiped existing settings and stopped other plugins working. All previous customisations of the menu system, which was extensive, were lost.

This would not have mattered if Custom Sidebars worked, but for me it did not. I created sidebars in accordance with the scanty advice given, followed the instructions for setting each page or post to pick up the new side bar. It didn’t work, I had blank sidebars, or the old default ones. Support? Well I can’t afford $49 a month, especially for something that had already messed me about. Maybe it was me, or my set up, or some bug that made it fight with other plugins, but whatever it was it cost me a lot of wasted time and effort. No thanks. I have found a plugin from another developer which is working without problems.

  • Hi @sorth,

Yikes, I’m so sorry to hear you had that experience with this plugin! Incidentally, the plugin itself doesn’t have the ability to wipe out other plugin or menu settings. That actually sounds like a possible database issue, which unfortunately can coincide with a plugin’s activation.

We’re totally here to assist with any such issues though, no need to pay for support, this is a free version after all. You can simply post here:

I know you mentioned using another plugin, but we’d love to take a look with you on this one if you’d be willing still.

Really hoping so, we’d really love to chance to earn a better rating. ??
