• I got this exclusively to block a certain plug-in from automatically updating. This plugin failed to prevent that update.

We are sorry that you are having trouble with Easy Updates Manager. Hopefully we are able to get this sorted out so that you can continue to use Easy Updates Manager.

First off, what plugin are you referring to that was auto updating? If it is a premium plugin then it could be that they use a different update mechanism that Easy Updates Manager does not support.

Also, what version of Easy Updates Manager are you using? I would assume you are using 5.3.2.

Lastly, when did it stop working? Did you install Easy Updates Manager and it didn’t disable the automatic update at all? Did you have Easy Updates Manager installed and working and then when you updated to WordPress 4.4 it stopped working?

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

I double-checked the code and the only case I can see that happening is if you have turned automatic updates all the way on. It would ignore whatever plugin you have selected not to have updates on.

Can you please provide us more information regarding what your settings were so we can troubleshoot?

    Thanks.

The plugin in question is Yoast SEO. It updates itself over and over again. Id love to remove the thing altogether but it breaks the site to remove it. It conflicts with everything! The only solution is to keep it rolled back to an old version, but doing this every few days is annoying. I want to say I’ve had Updates Manager about a week and it was updating everything but Yoast, then today I look at it says at the top “Yoast SEO has been updated. See what’s new!”

I had it set to do everything as it normally would with the exception of Yoast and Jetpack; the two worst culprits for issues; especially when both running at the same time> Jetpack hasn’t had an update since I installed so I can’t tell you whether or not it would have stopped it or not.

I have reset everything in settings and will make sure update all is disabled and see what happens. It’s possible that was set incorrectly but I doubt it. I spent a good amount of time making sure I was configuring it properly, but I am human.

I revised the stars. I’m not used to anyone giving a damn about a single user. Thanks

    Thanks.

I have Yoast SEO on my sites too and the updates are a pain. I did the reverse and enabled automatic updates for it.

I’ll configure one of my lower traffic sites to not auto-update it anymore and see what happens.

That new Yoast update with that real-time keyword search and density calculation makes editing large posts impossible for me; anything over 2k words can cause such a delay that a whole paragraph can be typed before it starts to load one letter at a time into the editor. Disable Yoast, problem goes away. Re-enable, problem back. It’s a known issue… well, the users know it but Yoast hasn’t acknowledged it yet. I put in a ticket with Yoast and the response was “pay us, we’ll talk to you.” I tried to remove Yoast, pages disappeared. Whole pages. Re-install, pages re-appear. Only solution is to keep it rolled back to v2.
