The plugin report looks good. It generated a long table, titled “Result (post).” It lists every single ALT tag that has been changed with the specific post title and ID.

I went into the actual posts, then, and discovered that nothing had actually been changed.

This could be because of the recent WordPress 4.3 update. I would love for this to work.

I would also recommend allowing category selection for posts. I do not like bulky plugins, but I think that enough people use WordPress as a CMS using categories that this would be a worthwhile feature.

UPDATE: I see that this plugin DID change the ALT tags within my media library. It did not, however, change the ALT tags within the HTML of my posts. I have a portfolio site with maybe 120 posts or more in it, each with between six and forty images in them. Obviously it would be useful to not have to edit those tags one at a time, or to reinsert the media over and over.

    Hi,

Thank your for using our script.

Yes, the plugin updates the ALT tags in the media library, and not in the HTML of the posts. In fact, we tried to integrate this feature (update the html in the post), but they are too many criteria to make this feature 100% working (wordpress versionning, plugins…..)
For this, the plugin SEO Friendly Images can be useful (but it needs to let the plugin activated all the time)

About the “category selection”, it can be a nice feature! We won’t have time to release the plugin in the next days, but we will try to integrate this feature in the next version
