Did I get hacked?

  • I just tried to change my template and when I view the site I get a blank page with this

    “//HACKED\\ ***by_bruce*** —1923Turk-Grup—>”

    What’s going on here? Do I have to reinstall WP?

    I’m running 2.6. Didn’t upgrade yet. Should I?

    what I would do
    I assume you have a recent database back up – or your host does – if not, back up now

    delete all wp files from server except wp-config.php and /wp-content.
    However, you will want to get another copy of your theme to up load or comb through your theme files making sure they are ok

    install ver 2.7
    import backed up db
