Did Akismet problems crash my site?

    Today around 5:30 PM PST I received an email notification from wordpress asking me to moderate a comment on my blog. I’ve posted that info below. Initially I went into wordpress and there was a notification at the top saying Akismet had had a problem and I was being asked to moderate a comment. I marked the comment as spam but when I clicked to delete it the website told me that https://gender-focus.com was taking too long to respond and couldn’t load the webpage. Since then I’ve received the exact same email about the same spam message 5 times at random intervals but haven’t been able to see my site.

    I’ve checked and you can’t get to my site or my wordpress dashboard from other computers or in other internet browsing systems. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be and how I can fix it?

    The site is up now (I can get to it).

    If you can’t get to it, get a hold of your webhost and tell them that you may have been blocked (sometimes mod_security can get tripped when you’re cleaning out spam if the spammer has some wild characters in the content).
