Diagnosing why I can’t login

    Hello,
    I’ve installed a plugin and added all encryption & salt settings and pressing “Test” shows a table with a few users.

    However, when trying to login with a user from the external DB, using wp-login.php, it says that the email doesn’t exist.

    I am hosting both WP & External DB on AWS. I am trying to assess what is the potential reason for this happening but I can’t seem to find it. Would there be any logs that help or pointers on what could be wrong?

    RESOLVED: It was a case of wrong encryption method selected.
