dfBlog Theme changing background images from png to jpg

I am using the dfBlog Theme and I added a new folder in the styles folder with two new png images. My problem is now I have a very heavy theme. I cannot figure out how to get this them to use a style that will use these same images as jog images. Any help with this would be so appreciated because this problem is really racking my brain. THANKS…
