Okay, I’m dealing with a very confusing and frustrating issue………..

I have Events Manager plugin installed on many websites now that I manage / create… And right now, I’m looking at my site: https://vocal-alchemy.com

If you go to the Schedule page, you see 3 events, and there are “details” for each event, and the event details show on the site…

However, when i’m in the WP Dashboard, and I’m trying to edit the event, the DETAILS are NOT SHOWING. They are just blank and disappeared… I’ve tried a few times where after I create a Test Event, the details just disappear and I can’t edit the details that I wrote previously…. They show up on the site but they disappear from the dashboard edit version.

I’ve upgraded to the latest version of WP, and I’ve updated to the latest version of Events Manager – both just to see if that would solve the problem. It hasn’t. And I’m noticing it on multiple websites on multiple webhosting servers that I manage, AND it’s a problem across browsers – I’ve tested it on Chrome, Firefox and Safari.

    What’s UP?????????

    thanks
    Sitka

event calendar is not one we’d try to make compatible (it’s an events plugin). cforms might get fixed with some upcoming updates

Hi Marcus, sure. I was just pointing out that some other plugins seem to have similar kinds of?compatibility problems with cforms as Events Manager apears to. Would seem to imply that cforms does indeed need some kind of fix… FYI, I’ve posted details of the issue in the forum for cforms: https://www.deliciousdays.com/cforms-forum/troubleshooting/cforms-ii-conflict-with-events-manager-plugin/

here’s hoping… not sure why they never used the wp repo for it.

I’m having the same issue. Am currently testing Event Manager to use on my website, if it works well, will likely to go Pro.

Am unclear after reading through this thread if it’s a theme compatibility issue, a plug-in clash (I don’t have any of those plug-ins running) or an issue in Event Manager.

I’ve had four users testing Event Manager for nearly two weeks, and this issue has only just shown up. Surely if it were a plug-in issue, it would have shown up straight away? I haven’t added any new plugins since I started the testing.

Are there other plug-ins that clash that could be causing this?

Has anything further come to light re. this issue?

    Appreciate any help!

most probably a plugin/theme clash. there’s so many plugins out there (plus add the fact they’re all updated regularly, sometimes with bugs) it’s not possible to keep track.

Ok – but this issue is only happening for one out of five users right now (as far as I’m aware). Plus this particular user had no issues at all until yesterday… so surely that can’t mean it’s a plug-in issue or:

    A) We’d all be having issues
    B) There would have been issues from the beginning.

Or is my logic faulty somewhere?

with all the differnt things plugins/themes can do to your site, there’s no telling.

If you can consistently figure out the cause of the problem, it’ll be a lot easier to figure out. Also worth checking your user’s settings i.e. is WYSIWYG editor enabled for them?

Great – will get on to it. Appreciate your help. Will let you know what I find out.

    Hello,

Found the solution on another CFormsII forum post at https://www.deliciousdays.com/cforms-forum/troubleshooting/visual-editor-conflict/.

In the CFormsII plugin Global Settings page, expand the “WP Editor Button support” and check the box next to “Fix TinyMCE Error” and “Select in case you experience a TinyMCE editor error caused by other plugins.”

Then be sure to click the “Update Settings” button.

    Worked great for us!

    Hey Vicorock,

Thanks for posting. Unfortunately I don’t have CFormsII installed… I’m using Fast Secure Contact Forms. Had a read through their settings incase it was the same… but it wasn’t.

    So I still haven’t found a fix.

One noteworthy thing that may provide a clue… the user who’s having difficulty (even after I created a new user login and password for her) got this error message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 491520 bytes) in /var/www/vhosts/theyogalunchbox.co.nz/httpdocs/wp-includes/class-simplepie.php on line 4186

This is despite me allocating more memory last week… I’m still investigating to see if I can sort it out.

    Kara-Leah

@karaleah: This isn’t a plugin-specific issue. If you can’t allocate yet more memory, try deactivating a few plugins and see if that helps.

    (@netweblogic)

your memory is quite low, you should be ok with 128M

    Hey Marcus,

I’ve increased the memory to 128M, and my user who was having issues with Edit mode not displaying etc says it seems to be working perfectly now.

    Hopefully that’s sorted it out!

Thanks for all the tips, much appreciated.

    great to hear that.
