Detailed Page Stats
-
Hi,
Since a few days I experience some challenges with Site Kit.
In the Site Kit Summary there is this url displayed as: (not set). When I click on it, it brings me to a page called “Detailed Page Stats” where it states “It looks like the URL https://www.celestialrebel.com/ is not part of this site, therefore there is no data available to display.”
I’ve just updated the plugin but no changes in what is described above. I checked if all the Site Kit tools are connected the proper way and I’ve got green bullets everywhere.
Can you please advice how to solve this or what causes this issue?
Thank you in advance.

Thanks for sharing the additional information. Based on all the details you’ve kindly provided I’ve created the below GitHub issue:
https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/3265We’ll do some additional testing on our side. In the meantime without wanting to ask you to perform much additional troubleshooting steps can you share the following:
- When you had WPML setup previously did you include a language path for default homepage (ie. celestialrebel.com/en)?
- Have you tried to reset the plugin so far? (note that by doing so you’ll need to once again setup Site Kit and all previously connected modules. Other previously connected users will also need to sign in once again)
I’ll keep you updated with any updates from testing on our side also.
Hello @jamesosborne
Thank you.
When I set up WPML, I’ve selected the standard language NL and the language I wanted to translate to EN. But never continued to translate. Furthermore, I had someone on Fiverr set up a full version of WPML as it was cheaper than to buy the plugin straight away. This way I wanted to test if this translation plugin is something for me before buying it officially. There were no issues. But there were some WPML updates afterwards, I don’t know (am not sure) if these updates already caused the issue. But I am sure after the last two Site Kit updates suddenly it showed as it does now with the (not set) being displayed.
I’ve re-installed Site Kit a few times, but that did not solve the issue either. Just now I did a reset as suggested but no changes in the issue.
Hope this info helps.
Hi @celestialrebel,
Thanks for the update. From my side I can confirm there are no issues with the specific character in your site title and now I’m awaiting Analytics data to be collected on a site with no defined title or tagline (which I expect will result in a “Not set” title as your own.
I hope there will be Analytics data collected on the second test site today but if not tomorrow it should appear. I’ll keep you updated as soon as I have an update.
In the meantime please check one more from troubleshooting mode is do you see the Site Kit admin toolbar tab while in troubleshooting mode. I don’t expect there will be any difference at present. If you don’t see the Site Kit admin tab please inform me on what other URLs you don’t see the menu tab (ie. Singular posts, blog pages)
Many thanks for your patience on this. I’ve managed to recreate the a “not set” record in the top content table that now has traffic. While the record appears in the table I’m unable to experience the same “…not part of your site” issue (recording).
As there is something unusual with your particular setup, maybe from any old WPML traces and cached versions of your content this may require some further troubleshooting steps.
I may need to escalate this for further review. Before doing so can you share whether you have the WPML plugin files somewhere, which you can then use to install once more before resetting the plugin (“WPML -> Support -> Troubleshooting” and at the bottom of the page you can find an option “Reset”). After doing so we can can also check the additional .htaccess rules for your site. From inspecting your Site Health information there are additional rules applied.
Let me know anyway, and thanks for your patience on this.
Thank you and sorry for not responding earlier…
Regarding your response from yesterday: I’ve seen the Site Kit tab in troubleshoot mode on various blog posts but not on the WordPress dashboard (please see my former answer to that, but I did not check all the pages and posts, so I assume that was fine).
As I had WPML installed through a person on Fiverr I do not own or have the installation files for WPML myself, unfortunately. As I deleted/removed WPML completely I can not check that or do a new installation, sorry. I could try to contact the seller on Fiverr but as a translation plugin seems to cause (part) of the problems with Site Kit, I decided for now not to translate this website with a plugin. Tell me if I should try to get WPML installed again through Fiverr seller (if I can manage to get a second installation for free otherwise this option is not possible).
Update:
Today I see a (new) error in Site Kit. I am not sure if this is connected with the (not set) issue. This was not there before…
This shows on the Site Kit dashboard on the bottom right next to the AdSense stats: https://imgur.com/4X0yk32
Thanks for the update. That’s unfortunate you don’t have WPML setup. Not to worry though, we can hopefully perform some additional troubleshooting steps. Firstly I’ll request a site reset on the Site Kit service for your site if that ok with you. This will result in you having to setup your site once more, at which stage I’ll request you access what should be the detailed page stats for your homepage, as below:
https://celestialrebel.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=googlesitekit-dashboard&permaLink=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.celestialrebel.com
Let me know if that’s ok with you, if so I’ll request a reset today.

This is interesting. Are you able to reproduce this same error message consistently, even when checking from a Chrome browser incognito window using troubleshooting mode as before? If so it would be great if you could open a support topic individually for this so I can discuss with the team. I will take care of it personally and investigate.
Sorry for the delay.
I give permission for you to request a Site Kit reset with their service. I assume that the settings like in my Analytics account etc will remain? If so yes, a reset is totally fine. In other words: I assume it is only about connecting again to the various Google channels Site Kit connects to? Please confirm. Thank you.
Gladly this has been restored https://imgur.com/4X0yk32 it shows as it needs to show again ?? However the main issue (not set) still shows…
Upfront I wish you a nice weekend!
I assume a Site Kit reset was done as the (not set) issue is gone, I do not see it any more https://imgur.com/PWJICdp \o/
Thank you!!
The only thing is that before my stats were better as on this screenshot https://imgur.com/SoGRDjS
Was the reset also resetting stats measurement?
Is there anything now you need or I should do to help gain information?
Update:
I noticed now ads stopped showing again, so I checked my AdSense account, but there are no issues found or stated there.

Hi @celestialrebel,
Apologies for the delay, I was out of office on Friday. In relation to your site reset I have to pass this on, it’s not something I can do myself unfortunately. But in relation to your Analytics data no, it won’t make any impact, your data is all on the Analytics side so a site reset means you just need to once again connect the modules within Site Kit. I’ll hopefully have your site reset on the service at some stage today or tomorrow, if it was something I could myself I would do immediately.
However the main issue (not set) still shows…
The “not set” reference will remain at present until this GitHub issue has been resolved. For your own understanding this is as a result of your homepage title not having a title defined at some stage, most likely from a WPML install. I did some testing on this last week based on your setup and I was able to recreate. At present Site Kit requires a matching URL and title, going forward there are plans to show URLs in this table based on what you see in Google services.

Can you confirm this no longer occurs? I created a GitHub issue from which to investigate this. It’s new to me and if you can reproduce this consistently it would be great if you could open a separate support topic for this so address this specifically, as opposed to this topic. This topic which I’m working on with you is in relation to having no “Detailed Page Stats” for your homepage, and no Site Kit admin tab also for your homepage.
I noticed now ads stopped showing again, so I checked my AdSense account, but there are no issues found or stated there.
I wonder if this is also related to the AdSense error you reported (per your screenshot). We can deal with this from your newly created support topic if that’s ok, I do see console errors and from checking your site source code there are lazy loading references which may be impacting as placement. But please do open a support topic for your ads and we can check.
I’ll let you know once your site is reset on the service and we’ll troubleshoot your homepage reporting once more.
@celestialrebel Just an update based on your last comments, I was lost responding to your second last reply, apologies!
I assume a Site Kit reset was done as the (not set) issue is gone, I do not see it any more https://imgur.com/PWJICdp \o/
This is excellent! The site reset was still pending although I will cancel it now. Can you check the link in your screenshot does bring you to a page with detailed page statistics?
I noticed now ads stopped showing again, so I checked my AdSense account, but there are no issues found or stated there.
I checked your site also and I don’t see ads from the URLs I reviewed. I will however be sure to investigate this personally as much as I can in plugin support if you want to open a support topic.
Thank you.
At first, I was happy that the (not set) is not showing any more, but when I click on the link 1. Celestial Rebel * Personal Lifestyle Blog as on this screenshot https://imgur.com/PWJICdp it still shows as on this new screenshot https://imgur.com/GkV98PS
I do see the Site Kit tab now on various pages, but I did not check them all.
There might be still something wrong in Site Kit. There was an update for Site Kit so I did it, but again it did not change the challenge we encounter. Maybe a Site Kit reset is still necessary?
I started a new AdSense support request here, but it is in Dutch https://support.google.com/adsense/thread/107601727/adsense-advertenties-in-combinatie-met-google-site-kit?hl=nl
Where do you recommend starting a thread about AdSense on this forum? Is there something for AdSense already? Or should I just start a new one in “Site Kit Plugin” on here?

In that case I will resume your reset request. I’ll also speak to the team on this today, as I can’t be sure this will solve it, I haven’t encountered this error before. Out of curiosity if you change your homepage to a single page as opposed to a blog page can you then recheck the same detailed page stats page by accessing the below:

Good idea posting in the AdSense forums. If you want to also open one here I will take control of it and see what I can dig up.
@celestialrebel Many thanks for your patient on this. I’ve spoken to our engineering team in relation to your site and resetting it on the Site Kit service. After reviewing your case we’d like you to check something before doing so – does your admin panel when logged in include the www prefix? Ie. https://celestialrebel.com/wp-admin or https://www.celestialrebel.com/wp-admin
If it does not include the www then please perform the step previously suggested (changing your sites homepage temporarily to a single page) before checking the below URL:
https://www.celestialrebel.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=googlesitekit-dashboard&permaLink=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.celestialrebel.com
Sorry for my late reply as I am in the middle of building my own startup. Thank you for your patience.
Good news: I see ads on the website and the (not set) does not show anymore but still this is like it was:
At first, I was happy that the (not set) is not showing any more, but when I click on the link 1. Celestial Rebel * Personal Lifestyle Blog as on this screenshot https://imgur.com/PWJICdp it still shows as on this new screenshot https://imgur.com/GkV98PS
Also, I still do not see the Site Kit tab on the Site Kit dashboard but as stated before I now do see it on several other pages when logged in.
When logged in my url shows like this https://www.celestialrebel.com/wp-admin/
Hope this helps for investigation further and please bare with me due to a lack of time at this moment, sorry.
