    Hi,

Since a few days I experience some challenges with Site Kit.

In the Site Kit Summary there is this url displayed as: (not set). When I click on it, it brings me to a page called “Detailed Page Stats” where it states “It looks like the URL https://www.celestialrebel.com/ is not part of this site, therefore there is no data available to display.”

I’ve just updated the plugin but no changes in what is described above. I checked if all the Site Kit tools are connected the proper way and I’ve got green bullets everywhere.

Can you please advice how to solve this or what causes this issue?

    Thank you in advance.

Excellent, that’s progress! Now you can use the troubleshooting tab to enable Site Kit (Troubleshooting > Plugins > Site Kit). Can you inform me if you then see the Site Kit tab?

Unfortunately I do not see the Site Kit tab doing that.

Interesting. Do you see the Site Kit tab on any URLs on your site after activating in troubleshooting mode? From your website to individual pages or posts?

    (@celestialrebel)

YES! I went to a blog post and then I do see it. Now, I can agree on a little progress ??

*but I do not see it on the homepage still

** I even see more tabs but not on the homepage (gawd, I did not know I had so many tabs haha)

Great! The Site Kit tab will appear on URLs whereby there is already data to be collected. So to conclude the tab related issue it looks like there is some type of WP Rocket conflict with most likely the combining of JS assets (as determined by the troubleshooting tab and possibly the Site Kit tab not appearing in the admin toolbar).

Other users did report similar conflicts previously and when enabling any such optimizations there can always be some things that end up not working as expected. While we can’t easily provide solutions for third party optimizations if you’re content that the Site Kit toolbar now appears we can investigate your original issue if you wish.

When you access your sites homepage (I suggest when using troubleshooting mode) can you state whether you see any Site Kit data from the admin toolbar once you hover over the Site Kit tab? If so please click on the link that will direct you to a page that shows “Detailed Page Stats” for your homepage URL.

Thank you. Of course, I want to investigate more please as the issue needs to be solved. I just activated WP Rocked again and then the tabs also appear, just not on the homepage.

I do not see Site Kit data when WP Rocket is activated. When the WP rocket is deactivated I do see Site Kit data.

The link in Site Kit Summary that shows as (not set) and goes to the page that then shows “Detailed Page Stats” is the homepage url I believe. In troubleshoot mode nothing changes, the issue as in my first post for this thread is still there. With and without WP Rocket, that remains still the same.

No problem at all. While we would love for the issue to be solved it’s not something we can solve on the Site Kit side unfortunately. When you use any minification or combining of assets features with any optimization plugin these things can result in this unpredictable behavior. The good thing is there should be no conflicts on the admin side (without using the admin toolbar).

There are maybe exclusion options within WP Rocket but as it’s a commercial plugin I can’t test it. I do believe there is a warning when activating such features.

Would you like me to work with you to test out the “Detailed Page Stats” issue initially reported? If so can you temporarily deactivate WP Rocker to check your homepage from the Site Kit admin toolbar?

    Thank you.

Both links as on the screenshot go to the “Detailed Page Stats” message that will display when clicking on them (at first I thought it was only the (not set) one but now I see it happens with both)

Thanks for the insights, really useful screenshot. At present there are various situations whereby a particular page can appear twice in the Top Content table, and this includes using language plugins, changes to a page or post title or a slug/URL change.

I’ve been talking with an engineer in relation to this and we can will hopefully display the same URLs as per your Search Console data soon, with more details contained in this GitHub issue.

In your case, which is slightly different if both clicks on those URLs are directing you to a “Detailed Page Stats” page that shows a message that the URL is not part of your site do you mind sharing a screen recording using a service such Loom or Record it so I can investigate this further? I’m wondering could this be related to your Analytics setup (as per this issue). Within the recording it would be great if I can see you clicking on the link, then the “Detailed Page Stats” and the full address bar URL.

Let me know if you have any questions on the above, and appreciate your troubleshooting efforts so far.

@jamesosborne Thank you for your time and help today!! I will need to do what you ask me tomorrow as it is nighttime here in The Netherlands now. Please please, keep in touch regarding my challenges with Site Kit. Hope to continue tomorrow (with you).

No problem at all, will do. We provide support during weekdays only so no hurry on providing the screen recording. I’ll keep on eye on here regardless, I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of it. My colleague has also setup an environment similar to your own to try and recreate this issue.

    Have a nice evening.

Hi @jamesosborne, hope you had a great weekend, and thanks again for your time!

Please find the requested screen recording here: https://www.loom.com/share/66cf400f99e3407780a2d242cb77b6bf

Also as you mentioned Analytics setup, here is a screenshot too: https://imgur.com/E3ihMI2 I assume this is all correctly setup

    Hi @celestialrebel,

Likewise hope you enjoyed the weekend! Many thanks for sharing the video. In relation to the duplicate listings in your “Top content table” the “Not Set” listing previously occurred when there was no site title defined within a WordPress general settings configuration, although there may be plugins such as SEO or Translations plugins that can also overwrite this. The way both of them point to an invalid “Detailed Page Stats” is unusual.

In your Loom video which you kindly shared can you share the full URL from the address bar on both pages which display the “..is not part of this site” message? Unfortunately the address bar isn’t evident in the video, I want to see the full URL that is appearing, possibly even with the symbol in your title:
Celestial Rebel ? Personal Lifestyle Blog

I’m also testing the same setup with the same characters in my title on my side.

Hi @jamesosborne Thank you for the swift reply!

This is the url for (not set) https://imgur.com/tCfFN9T

This is for Celestial Rebel ? Personal Lifestyle Blog https://imgur.com/bpRb5j8

They are both the same. Furthermore I indeed had WPML installed but as in the start of this thread was explained that might be causing the issue I uninstalled it as I was not using it for this website. I have Yoast SEO installed but there were no problems before. I’ve set up Yoast the same day I installed Site Kit when I started my blog.

Unfortunately the next few hours I will not be able to answer. Later on today I have more time to continue troubleshooting and investigating. Thank you for your patience ??
