So, this is a fairly specific request/question, but when I detach an event from a recurring event set, what I was hoping for was that the detached event would in effect replace the original day/time. Instead, I get duplicates of the same event.

As an example, I am helping a non-profit create an events system, and they have library hours that, while pretty regular most weekdays, have extended hours once per week beyond the normal hours. They also have monthly workshops, the theme of which changes from month to month. They’ve been relying on Google calendar, which has the option of editing single instances of a recurring event to advertise those monthly themes.

Is there a way to do this smoothly via detaching a specific day (e.g. Tuesday) from the recurring set that runs M-F? Or is the simplest way to create two recurring events for the same event?

Thanks so much, it’s a wonderful plugin and I’m delighted by the flexibility of event formatting via the placeholders.

I tried this one and seems to be working fine, e.g. when I detach one recurring event I don’t get any duplicates like if I have recurring events on Monday and Tuesday then detach Tuesday the result is one recurring event which is Monday and one single event which is Tuesday

also, can I know what EM version are you using?

@agelonwl – Oh, weird – I’m not sure what was happening before, but detached events are no longer duplicating. Maybe something to do with the Total Cache plugin?

    I’m using version 5.3.6.1.

yes, that could be caching issue; glad it’s working now.
