• Dear developer(s),

I downloaded your plugin in hope for a great tool for adding more languages to my business website. After clicking the “activate”-button, however, my website got crushed. It’s as if wordpress was deleted, I can not even reach my website anymore. I have to reinstall and rebuild everything again.

I don’t know if the fault lies in your plugin or on my side, but I sincerely want to WARN others to definitely BACKUP their database and wordpress page before activating this plugin.

    Sincerely Yours,

  • Sorry to hear this @yiu but if you could be more explicit about what happened, we could:

    – try to fix it (and since you’re saying that your site is affected drastically, we’d try to do it ASAP)
    – the other users of our plugin would understand in what circumstances their sites could be affected by our plugin. We’re not aware of any other reports about sites being destroyed completely by WooCommerce Multilingual.

Please let me know if you need help with this situation. Or at lease please add a few more details if you do want to help other users.

    Cheers,
    Mihai

This is under any circumstance NOT something that WooCommerce Multilingual would do. WooCommerce multilingual will NOT delete your site.

Before spending too much time on rebuilding the site, I suggest that you try to get some help in our support forum.

Provide details like versions of WordPress and all plugins that you have, errors displayed on the site or present in the logs etc…

I basically downloaded your plugin via wordpress backend. After downloading you can click at the blue button “activate” which I did. After clicking, the whole site didn’t work anymore.

The domain is not even accessible anymore. The fault is not on my host’s fault as their servers aren’t down. I can not see better solutions than to reinstall and rebuild everything again.

I don’t know if it has something to do with the Avada theme I used. If you have any ideas how I can fix it, I will appreciate it.

    > The domain is not even accessible anymore.

This is something that even a plugin wanted to do, could not do it. If your domain is not reachable, you should contact your hosting company or you registrar.

It’s virtually impossible for a WordPress plugin to alter your DNS settings.

I’m not asking you to change your review but if you left the negative review on the account of WooCommerce Multilingual altering your domain name DNS settings, I can only tell you that it’s not really fair.

And yet – like I mentioned before – if you have a WPML subscription I encourage you to reach out for help in our support forum. Create a ticket there and try to provide some details about either how we can replicate this situation or access to your site so we can collect more information.

    Cheers,
    Mihai

I will believe you and try to find a proper solution. I will change the stars from 1 to 3 stars. Thanks for the fast reply though.

If I have the chance again to test your plugin, I will be able to give a better rating. Until then, I hope I will be able to fix the problem.

    Sincerely
